Joseph R. Theisen, CPA

Chief Executive Officer

Joe is the CEO of Advance Capital Management, he has overall operational responsibility for the firm in addition to managing the financial professionals. A licensed CPA and former public accountant, he joined Advance Capital in 2000. Joe is active with the Michigan Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served in his current role since 2012.

Prior to joining the firm, he was the CFO of Detroit Edge Tool Company and Cardinal Automotive. A graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Accounting, he received his degree in 1984. Outside of the office, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and playing golf and hockey. He is also an avid reader.

Christopher M. Kostiz

President & Chief Investment Officer

As Chief Investment Officer, Chris directs the strategy and structure of the discretionary model portfolios and leads the investment committee. He joined Advance Capital in 1993 and was appointed President of Advance Capital Management, Inc. in 2004. Chris earned his degree in Finance from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University.

Kathy Harkleroad, CRCP

Chief Operations Officer

Prior to joining Advance Capital in 1990, Kathy worked in Treasury at Michigan Bell. Kathy is responsible for oversight of the Regulatory and Compliance functions. In 2004, she received the CRCP designation from the Wharton/FINRA Certified Regulatory and Compliance Program.

Julie Katynski

Chief Financial Officer

Julie earned her degree in Finance from Oakland University and Masters degree in Accounting from Walsh College. She joined Advance Capital in 1995 as V.P. of Finance. Julie is responsible for financial and regulatory reporting as well as the Accounting and Finance functions.

Tim T. Wilson

Chief Information Officer

Tim is responsible for the technological direction of the company and leading a team that implements all information technology operations. He brings over two decades of professional IT experience and leadership with emphasis on strategy and data quality.

Tim graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Management Information Systems. Outside the office, he is an avid tennis player who also enjoys travel, roller coasters, and quality time with family and friends.

Jennifer S. Hall

Chief Revenue Officer

Jennifer is responsible for all marketing and sales activities for the firm. She brings more than 30 years of experience, specializing in digital technologies and content marketing.

Jennifer graduated with university honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a B.A. in Professional Writing and a concentration in graphic design. Outside of the office, she loves to travel and explore the world with her family.

Stephanie Lawrence

As Chief Services Officer, Stephanie is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.  With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, she brings a deep understanding of client needs and industry trends to ensure we provide exceptional service and exceed expectations.  Stephanie’s strategic thinking and leadership skills enable her to guide and develop our team of service professionals to deliver unparalleled value to our clients. Outside of the office, she enjoys being outside, crafts, and quality time with her friends and family.
